When I first started the school year, I had no idea it would end like this.
Where was I at the beginning of the school year?
- In a committed relationship
- Ready to get my students to 100% passing on their state social studies exam
- 10 pounds lighter
Where am I today?
- Ending the year at home
- Wearing crocs because I am too lazy to wear sneakers
The saying is true, we make plans, and god laughs. This was defiantly the biggest joke of the year. This school year is crazy, but has also given me a lot of time to reflect on who am as a teacher.
The biggest reflection comes from teaching remotely and I have to s@y my world has been rocked! Every year, I take the time to reflect on the school year, and I wanted to share the process with you.
I usually categorize my reflection by the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Students learned how to communicate electronically
I can give different types of projects
I actually can enjoy my mornings
No communication with students
Can not say final goodbyes
Students completing 0 work
Students home situations
I recently held a Facebook live talking about these three categories in depth. You can check out the live below!
